Can I drive while taking medical cannabis?

Currently it’s illegal to drive with any amount of THC in your system in all Australian states.

This means that you can’t drive after using any cannabis flower, oil, concentrate or any other THC-containing product.

However, in Tasmania, an exemption may be available if you are currently prescribed, your THC levels are minor and you are not impaired.

There are certain CBD oils that are tested and proven to be free of THC. If you do want to take CBD and drive, make sure you check your prescription and product information to ensure it is completely THC free.

If you’re unsure, ask your doctor about your prescription and whether it’s safe or legal to drive while using it.
