Domestic Travel
You can travel within Australia with your medications, as long as they are in their original packaging with the pharmacy labels attached. Cartridges can be placed back into the packaging once detached from the vaporiser. You can also carry your patient card, which marks you as a patient of a medical cannabis clinic.
You do not need to take a copy of your prescription, however if you would like some formal documentation to take with you, we can organise a treatment letter.
International Travel
Your prescriptions are valid for use within Australia only, and we can not provide advice or supporting documentation relating to travelling internationally with your medication.
- Your prescription is considered invalid once you leave Australia.
- Medical cannabis is not legalised worldwide, and having it in your possession during a layover could result in criminal charges.
- Drug detection canines will find medical cannabis regardless of how or where it is packed.
